Introduction and Team you will belong to

This position is a key component of the Service Operations team, Asia Pacific Region, based on the West Coast.

 

You’ll play a key role in ensuring profitable growth in the service business with service operations that are safe, efficient, and to world-class OEM standards across the region

 

As a senior-level role within the recently consolidated Repairs and Field Services divisions, the successful candidate will be expected to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and reactive environment. Regular local and international travel will be a requirement of the role.

 

The Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and managing the Service operations (labour-related site activities, Field Services, and Repair facilities) in your region.
  • Manage safety performance and ensure operations adhere to local legislation, customer site requirements and Metso HSE requirements. 
  • Foster a strong safety culture by actively engaging in safety discussions and initiatives, promptly addressing safety concerns and being a role model in safety leadership.
  • Ensure service operations are conducted in compliance with applicable regulations, Metso policies, processes and procedures, including adoption and usage of service operations digital tools.
  • Manage resource capacity and utilization.  Develop and build competency to ensure operations are adequality staffed with the relevant skills to support the business
  • Manage monthly/quarterly/annual regional sales and costs. Manage financial targets, budget, and capital expenditure requirements.
  • Generate accurate forecasts (minimum 3 months) for orders, sales, and profitability.
  • Actively work with Sales teams to build the sales pipeline, plan upcoming services workload and promote service offerings to drive the profitable growth of Service Operations in the region.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, ensuring that negative customer feedback and NCR’s are investigated, responded to appropriately and that corrective actions are initiated to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Work collaboratively with the global Professional Services team, other Business Line stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Actively contribute to the Asia Pacific Service Operations Leadership Team

 

The successful candidate will possess the following:

Essential

  • Proven experience of 10 + years managing service operations businesses in mining, engineering, resource, or heavy industries.
  • Relevant technical education or equivalent experiences.
  • Robust leadership skills with demonstrated ability in performance management, safety leadership and customer service excellence.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to support and implement strategic plans.
  • Experience in managing budgets, forecasting and sales & operations planning
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and work effectively across cultures in a matrix environment
