Principal Product Engineer - Horizontal Mills

The Horizontal Mill Product Group seeks a Principal Product Engineer - Horizontal Mills, to lead and oversee the engineering design of Metso horizontal mills.  This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining a state-of-the-art suite of engineering tools, processes and systems supporting the engineering design and delivery of the most reliable and competitive horizontal grinding mills on the market.

This role will work in partnership with product managers in the development of product strategies and product roadmaps.  This role will be responsible for building the R&D funnel and leading the execution of complex R&D projects.

Based in Europe, this role will be expected to support Grinding hubs in Europe and the USA.  The role will additionally be required to provide strategic technical support to key sales cases, assist in the development of customer relationships and lead resolution of senstive warranty cases.

Applicants must be experts in grinding mill, open gearing and hydrostatic bearing design which includes as prerequisite expert level knowledge of design for high cycle fatigue and fracture mechanics.   Applicants must have a proven track record developing and executing technical product strategy through R&D, process & system development.
