Introduction
We are seeking a Technical Support – Reline Services to join our Canadian Services team. You will be responsible for supporting the execution of mill reline services for Metso customers, which involves leading and participating in shutdown activities, often in remote locations, while ensuring high standards in safety, quality, and performance. Your role plays a crucial part in delivering successful mill reline projects, which will contribute to customer satisfaction and operational excellence. In this position, you will report to Reline Team Manager.
This position is mainly located in Sudbury, ON; Montreal, QC; Kelowna, BC, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. However, it involves up to 70% travel to customer sites across Canada.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of technical experts in mill reline services who are passionate about safe, efficient, and high-quality shutdown execution and strive to deliver optimized solutions for our customers. We are currently working on complex shutdown projects and continuous improvement initiatives for reline methodologies and tooling.
We work closely with internal stakeholders such as HSE, Canadian Services Sales teams, Grinding Business Line, and external partners including customer site teams and contractors. Our team culture is all about collaboration, safety-first mindset, and knowledge sharing. The members in our team are located in various locations across Canada.
What you’ll do
• Develop scope of work and estimate shutdown duration with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure timely follow-up and customer satisfaction after reline execution.
• Review and develop job procedures and methodologies to optimize reline execution.
• Prepare and issue job reports to customers post-shutdown.
• Collaborate closely with HSE, Reline Team Manager, technicians, and sales teams to ensure successful planning.
• Conduct pre- and post-shutdown site assessments to verify conditions and identify potential challenges.
• Attend shutdowns to provide technical support for liner assembly and installation, resolving issues proactively.
• Ensure compliance with Metso and site-specific safety protocols and operational procedures.
Who you are
• Technical degree or equivalent in mechanical or mining-related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of mill reline experience or equivalent in industry (asset).
• Strong knowledge of mill lining systems (steel, rubber, polymer, Megaliner).
• Experience operating and maintaining mill reline machinery.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering plans.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in demanding environments (confined spaces, heights, extreme weather).
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively (up to 70%).
• Nice-to-have: Supervisory experience or trade certification.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with hot work, LOTO procedures, and hazardous environments.
