Introduction

 

We are seeking a Proposal Specialist to join our Canadian Aftermarket Sales team. You will be responsible for preparing high quality, competitive aftermarket proposals and cost estimates for equipment maintenance, repair, and upgrade projects, ensuring accurate scope definition and on time bid submissions. Your role plays a crucial part in supporting successful sales, project execution, and long term customer satisfaction.

In this position, you will report to Alexis Vouitsis, Senior Manager, Commercial Support & Strategic Initiatives, Canada.

This position is mainly located in Montreal, QC, with flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options; however, it involves approximately 10% travel to customer sites to support proposal development and project execution.

You will join a team of commercial and technical proposal specialists dedicated to delivering accurate, competitive, and customer focused aftermarket solutions. The team strives to support sales growth by providing high quality bids that enable safe, efficient, and profitable project execution.
We work closely with internal stakeholders such as engineering, technical support, field service, sales teams, as well as external customers. Our team culture emphasizes collaboration, accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. Team members are located across Canada.


What you’ll do

 

•    Prepare detailed aftermarket proposals for equipment maintenance, repair, and upgrade projects
•    Define detailed scopes of work using drawings, experience, procedures, and customer requirements
•    Develop accurate project cost estimates, including margins, contingencies, pricing, and commercial terms
•    Create engineering, supply, and installation schedules using MS Project
•    Liaise with internal technical experts and support teams to develop compliant and competitive proposals
•    Communicate directly with customers to clarify objectives, technical details, and commercial aspects
•    Support customers throughout the project lifecycle, including follow up on cost deviations and cycle times
•    Take a leadership role in planning larger or more complex service and aftermarket projects


Who you are

 

•    Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, or an equivalent technical background
•    Strong understanding of mining and mineral processing equipment (asset)
•    Experienced in preparing technical and commercial proposals and cost estimates
•    Comfortable working autonomously and making sound decisions with minimal supervision
•    Strong communicator, fluent in English (spoken and written), with the ability to collaborate across teams
•    Proficient with SAP, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce – asset), and Microsoft Office, including MS Project
•    Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings (imperial and metric systems)
•    Willing and physically able to travel to customer sites and work in industrial plant and mining environments
