Introduction:
We are seeking a HSE Coordinator to join our Services team. You will be responsible for providing HSE support to Management, supervisors and workers assigned on field projects within Metso. Specializing in delivering the occupational HSE program on field project. Ensure the HSE performances of our operations complies with local and Metso standards through proactive implementation of systems, education, and training of personnel. In this position, you will report to the Manager, Professional Services.
This position is mainly located in Greater Sudbury or Greater Montreal, Canada. However, it involves up to 75% of travel to customer sites inside of Canada.
Team you belong to:
You will join a team of experts on turnkey projects within the services group dedicated to offering the customer turnkey solutions for their shutdowns.
We work closely with the field services group and external contractors. Our team culture is all about providing solutions, and getting things done. The members in our team are in Canada.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with Professional Services and Project Managers to implement the Metso HSE program during turnkey project execution.
- Ensure compliance with local, customer, and legislative HSE requirements across all project activities.
- Lead project risk assessments, permits to work, and operational risk reviews before and during field activities.
- Prepare and maintain clear HSE reports, statistics, and safety indicators for field projects.
- Conduct internal project audits and investigate all incidents and non compliances, ensuring corrective actions and follow up.
- Engage with customers and stakeholders on HSE matters while maintaining strong working relationships.
- Promote a strong safety culture and implement preventative measures to achieve zero accident performance.
- Support continuous improvement by updating HSE standards, procedures, and contractor/supplier HSE evaluations.
Who you are:
- Experienced professional in a relevant field.
- Educational background in safety, engineering, or a related field (Associate Degree/Diploma/Bachelor’s).
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian and provincial OHS legislation.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in computer skills, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Highly motivated and focused, with the ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Proven history of providing HSE strategies.
- Willingness to travel domestically within Canada, up to 75% of the time.
- High interpersonal skills to coordinate internal and external issues effectively.

For positions that may be performed in Ontario, the expected salary range is $85,000 - $95,000 CAD per year. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on skills, experience, and role-related qualifications. Compensation for roles performed outside Ontario will be determined in accordance with applicable local laws and market conditions.
