Introduction


We are looking for a Manager – Field Service Benefication to join our Market Area North and Central America Services team. In this role, you will lead the Field Service Beneficiation organization, overseeing field service technicians, supervisors, and coordinators responsible for supporting customers across a broad range of beneficiation and dewatering technologies. You will drive safe, efficient, and customer-focused field service execution while ensuring strong operational and financial performance across the department.


You will report to the Director, Field Services.


This role is based in Canada, with flexible working options available. Domestic relocation may be considered.

 

This role includes approximately 20% travel to customer sites across Canada and other locations within North and Central America.

 


Team you will belong to


You will lead a team of field service professionals, supervisors, and coordinators focused on delivering world-class service support for Metso's beneficiation and dewatering equipment, including flotation cells, thickeners, dewatering filters, analyzers, samplers, and related technologies. Our team plays a key role in supporting customer operations throughout the equipment lifecycle, with a shared focus on safety, reliability, operational excellence, and customer success.


We collaborate closely with customers, sales teams, product groups, engineering, health and safety specialists, and service operations stakeholders. Our team is based across North America, and our ways of working emphasize open and honest communication, accountability, customer focus, and getting things done together.

 

What you'll do

 

  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of field service technicians, supervisors, and coordinators to deliver exceptional customer service and technical support.
  • Ensure field service activities including installation, commissioning, startup support, maintenance, troubleshooting, training, and warranty assessments are executed safely and effectively.
  • Foster a strong safety culture by collaborating with HSE teams to develop safe work procedures, methodologies, and job hazard assessments.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for customer service inquiries, technical challenges, and emergency field support requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and Strategic Account Managers to develop customer proposals, quotations, and technical service solutions.
  • Support field teams with technical and engineering guidance while coordinating resources across product lines and engineering functions.
  • Manage departmental performance, including orders, net sales, budget adherence, utilization, customer satisfaction, and reporting metrics.
  • Drive employee development through training plans, performance evaluations, mentoring, and succession planning initiatives.

 

What you'll bring

 

  • Fluency in English and French, including speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Technical degree preferred, with a background in mechanical, mining, or related industrial disciplines.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mining, industrial equipment maintenance, commissioning, or field service operations.
  • Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced, customer-facing service environment.
  • Strong understanding of Metso technologies, field service best practices, and customer support processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of customer service, maintenance, and field service management systems. Knowledge of Canadian mining customers and operations is considered an advantage.
