JOB TITLE: KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER

We are seeking for a Key Account Manager to join our LCS team. You will be responsible for providing Metso’s customers with professional technical support of its products. 

This position is responsible for building and maintaining an active long-term relationship with key decision makers at customer site level and continuously promote Metso’s value adding offering. Create a healthy business with high customer satisfaction.

In this position, you will report to the LCS Contracts Manager.

This position is mainly located in Mogalakwena.

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as LCS Support Centre to assure a common understanding/application of technical and safety support and information to support and provide excellent customer service on Metso’s equipment. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You are responsible for the following per your allocated area of responsibility:

Engineering Oversight:

  • Manage and oversee all engineering activities within mining and concentrator operations.
  • Ensure optimal performance of Metso equipment including crushers, screens, pump, grinding mills, flotation and thickener machinery.
  • Constantly identify and development of opportunities to increase the service to the customer.

Maintenance Management:

  • Develop and implement preventative and corrective maintenance strategies based on OEM specifications and best practices.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis and ensure timely resolution of breakdowns.
  • Lead planned maintenance activities in line with customer policies and OEM best practices.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all related safety regulations and Metso engineering standards.
  • Assist customer to investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote a safety-conscious working environment.

Project & Budget Management:

  • Advise and consult on capital projects and engineering upgrades.
  • Present business plans and strategies to customer senior management.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team including sales, technical sales support, field services and project managers to effectively serve the customer.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship.

Technical Documentation:

  • Maintain and update all technical drawings and manuals for Metso equipment.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with regulatory and operational standards.

 

 

 

 

 

WHO YOU ARE

Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Trade Test Certificate (Mechanical or millwright)
  • Advantageous to have a National Diploma or N6 in Engineering (Mechanical)

Experience:

  • 8–10 years in mining engineering roles
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or foreman position leading on maintenance practices
  • Experience with concentrator plants, especially on crushing and grinding circuits.
  • Experience on Metso equipment would be advantageous.

Certifications:

  • GES Certificate
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Government Certificate of Competency (advantageous)
