Introduction
We are seeking an Inbound Logistics Manager to join our Logistics team. The Inbound Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing import operations within the Canada and U.S. portion of the NCA region. The role ensures efficient, compliant, and customer-focused delivery from source locations to Metso distribution centers, customers, and other Metso entities. Key responsibilities include managing relationships with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs), coordinating inbound logistics activities, and serving as the primary contact for internal stakeholders. The position also supports trade compliance efforts to ensure regulatory adherence and optimize import operations. While the current scope focuses on Canada and U.S. operations, the role is designed to flexibly support inbound flows from other regional sources as needed. This position plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, maintaining import compliance, and supporting strategic logistics initiatives aligned with Metso’s global standards.
In this position, you will report to Gerardo Santiago Garcia Roig, Director, Orders and Logistics Operations NCA.
This position can be located in any of our offices within the United States; Mesa, AZ, York,PA, Brookfield,WI, Columbia, SC.

What you'll do:
- Lead and manage the inbound logistics team, setting clear objectives, conducting development discussions, and ensuring the team has the necessary skills and resources.
- Oversee inbound shipments from Metso distribution centers, plants, vendors, and internal factories, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders (e.g., Customer Service Representatives), providing logistics-related information to support efficient order fulfillment.
- Proactively monitor inbound shipments, manage deviations, and implement corrective actions to maintain service reliability and on-time performance.
- Ensure timely communication and system updates in response to changes, maintaining transparency and operational continuity.
- Develop and analyze logistics performance metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and waste reduction in inbound processes.
- Leverage data analysis and reporting tools to support decision-making, identify trends, and drive improvements in logistics operations.
- Coordinate and participate in cross-functional communications to resolve complex logistics issues and drive systematic improvements.
- Support the implementation of global logistics initiatives and standards within the region, ensuring alignment with Metso’s supply chain strategy.
- Utilize and optimize transportation management systems (TMS), SAP, and other logistics platforms to enhance visibility, efficiency, and control.
- Ensure logistics documentation for inbound and import transportation is accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) and customs brokers to ensure smooth execution of inbound operations.
- Act as the primary liaison for inbound logistics coordination with other Metso regional logistics teams.
- Remain adaptable to potential scope expansion, including support for inbound flows from other regional sources to customers
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree is considered an asset.
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in logistics or supply chain operations, with a strong emphasis on inbound logistics, traffic logistics, control tower operations, and import logistics.
- Proven experience managing international logistics flows and relationships with 3PL/4PL providers.
- Solid understanding of Incoterms, customs regulations, and export/import documentation requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing logistics teams.
- Experience working in a global organization with cross-functional collaboration across regions and business units.
- Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), SAP, and other logistics-related platforms.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support regional and global logistics operations.
