Introduction
We are seeking a Director, MA Mining Service Sales to join our U.S. Sales & Service team. You will be responsible for leading aftermarket sales operations for the United States Western region, which involves managing a high-performing sales team and driving both team and individual sales objectives. Your role plays a crucial part in ensuring sustainable, profitable business growth, which will positively impact Metso’s market presence and customer satisfaction. In this position, you will report to the Vice President, U.S. Sales & Service.
This position is mainly located in the United States Western region, and involves up to 50% travel to customer sites, industry events, or internal meetings.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of sales and service professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional aftermarket solutions and driving growth in the mining industry. We are currently working on strategic market development initiatives, customer satisfaction programs (NPS), and sales competency development projects.
We work closely with internal stakeholders such as regional leadership and account managers, and external stakeholders including key decision-makers at customer organizations. Our team culture is all about collaboration, accountability, and customer focus. The members in our team are located across various U.S. regions.
What you’ll do
- Lead aftermarket sales operations for the U.S. West region, ensuring profitable business growth.
- Own customer accounts and build strong relationships with key decision-makers.
- Develop and execute sales strategies by evaluating markets and projecting orders/sales volumes.
- Report and forecast regional sales results and performance.
- Coordinate customer satisfaction programs (NPS) and analyze results to define win plans for strategic opportunities.
- Mentor, train, and hire site account managers as required.
- Monitor key performance indicators and stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
- Contribute to Metso’s strategy, market development, and sales competency initiatives.
Who you are
- Degree in engineering, business, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in heavy industrial sales, preferably with mineral processing equipment or related products.
- Strong negotiation skills and proven track record in achieving sales targets.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and build a customer-focused team.
- Thorough understanding of accounting procedures including profit and loss, budgets, and gross margins.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage time effectively.
- Nice-to-have: Previous leadership experience in aftermarket sales within the mining industry.
