Introduction
We are seeking a Test Center Engineer to join our Minerals Grinding business unit team. You will be responsible for Test Center related technical activities such as data analysis, support of new and existing equipment, and technical training. The ideal candidate will play a significant role in planning and carrying out complex text programs and work closely with internal and external engineers to continue the expansion of automation in the Test Center. In this position, you will report to the Test Center Manager.
This position is mainly located in York, PA but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. Although the role does not require any travel or forecasted to have any travel, you may be asked to travel up to 10%.
What you’ll do
- Master Complex Calculations: Tackle intricate engineering calculations with precision and expertise.
- Craft Detailed Drawings: Prepare meticulous engineering drawings using advanced drafting/design software approved by Metso Outotec.
- Innovate Equipment Designs: Develop cutting-edge equipment designs that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
- Specify with Precision: Create detailed specifications for the procurement of high-quality equipment.
- Apply Engineering Excellence: Utilize your engineering knowledge, principles, and best practices to meet the stringent requirements of the Test Center.
- Commit to Quality: Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality ethics, focusing on meeting and exceeding the Test Center's needs and expectations.
- Support Development Projects: Assist in various development projects, contributing your expertise and insights.
- Drive Process Improvement: Provide valuable input to facilitate continuous process improvement.
- Enhance Automation: Develop and modify test equipment automation and control systems for optimal performance.
- Ensure Operational Efficiency: Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate Test Center equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Who you are
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD Mechanical, PLC, and SCADA systems programming is highly preferred.
- Process Control Expertise: Prior experience in process control is a significant advantage.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to apply logical and scientific principles to solve a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Safety Awareness: Ability to develop and maintain a keen awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Computer Savvy: Proficient in using Microsoft Office Products and other relevant software.
- Multitasking Ability: Capable of effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
- Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation skills.
