We are seeking a Global Category Manager for the components category to join the Procurement team in the Metso Aggregates Business Area.

 

As a Global Category Manager, you will have the responsibility for the procurement and supplier management of our components category globally within the Aggregates business area. You also lead the components category team globally within the business area, directly or in a matrix.

 

You will be responsible for global vendors over the commercial components, engineered components, electrification, and automation within the Aggregates business area. You will also lead sourcing category strategy development, deployment, and supplier management to deliver maximized total cost of ownership savings and to secure competitiveness within the category.

 

You will maintain and improve supplier relationships and be responsible for suppliers’ quality and delivery performance. You will manage existing suppliers and their contracts and negotiate new contracts when needed.

 

You will ensure compliance with our procurement policies and develop procurement’s performance. You will work closely with category responsible persons in our supply chain, engineering, product management, R&D, and Global Procurement teams within Metso.

 

This role requires traveling 10-40% of the work schedule. Position location is in Tampere or Espoo, Finland. Macon, France, or Alwar, India. 

 

 

What you’ll do 

 

To succeed in this role, you need to have already several years of experience in procurement, preferably in an international business environment. You have a good understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management. Experience in a similar industry and business environment, particularly in category management, is an advantage. You can lead and drive people in a positive way to high-performing results and achievements. You are also interested in components, technical details, and industrial business. You have also participated in agreement negotiations and are familiar with contract management. You have an excellent ability to make strategic analysis, planning, recommendations and drive those into results, also get people moving in the same direction. You also have great skills to drive forward component changes and improvements in our organization.

 

Your workstyle is self-reliant, accountable, and determined. You have an analytical mindset, and you do not hesitate to reach ambitious targets. Your collaboration and communication skills are great, and you have convincing negotiating and influencing skills.

 

 


Who you are  

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sourcing or procurement
  • Excellent negotiations and cooperation skills in English when working with external companies or internally
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree (e.g., in engineering or in business)
  • Fluency in the English language. Finnish skills are a plus.
  • Good IT skills with MS Office tools and practical experience with ERP systems (materials management, sourcing, purchasing)
  • Ability to travel 10-40% of the work time
