Role Purpose:

 

Responsible for leading projects assigned within the Pumps Business Line by overseeing delivery in accordance with contract, schedule, and budget requirements. Project management assignments are allocated by the Manager – Project Execution at the initial stage of the project, and may participate in pre-contract negotiations, if required; and ensuring that the guidelines of the Quality, Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Management System are followed, and supervising that the personnel under their charge also follow these guidelines. 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure compliance to Metso policies, processes, guidelines and QEHS standards. 

  • Promote a culture of accountability, customer focus and continuous improvement. 

  • Ensure adherence to project governance and documentation standards. 

  • Leads the core team for a project and managing the team to successfully execute the project and maintains an ethical, proficient and co-operative approach with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Organizes resources necessary to control the project including encouraging, coaching and leading by example in order to promote effective team work. 

  • Reviews and acknowledges contracts/orders in a controlled manner 

  • Understands contract conditions, participates in meetings in order to negotiate revisions to the conditions and disseminates essential information as necessary 

  • Manage assigned projects end-to-end, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk. 

  • Manages baseline scopes, programs, budgets and requests for changes to these in order to limit any project overruns and to limit the liability of the company to third parties. 

  • Reviews and understands the project quality requirements, and monitors and ensures compliance through liaison and association with the relevant stakeholders, 

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, QA/QC, procurement and production teams across multiple factories, to ensure seamless project execution. 

  • Monitor compliance with project quality standards and regulatory requirements. 

  • Prepare and submit monthly project reports to internal & external stakeholders. 

  • Ensure successful project close-out, including documentation, lessons learned, and client handover. 

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to enhance confidence and future business opportunities. 

 

 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or Project/Construction Management (or equivalent experience).  
  • Minimum 10 years of overall work experience and 03 years with experience in developing and managing processes and teams. 
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous. 
  • Experience in the mining, pumps, or aggregates industry is an advantage. 
  • Experience/knowledge to engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality control, scheduling, desirable. 
  • PMP certification 
  • Advanced English proficiency (especially technical terminology).
  • Strong decision making & management skills including team orientation, drive performance culture and motivation of team members. 
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and effective interpersonal skills are required, as this person will have frequent interaction with both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Project/contract management skills (organization, cost control, contract terms etc.) are required 
  • Must be able to function effectively both as a member of a team and as an individual contributor 
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines 
  • Strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office products.
