We are seeking an experienced and motivated QEHS Manager to join our Filtration team.
In this role, you will oversee and enhance the QEHS system and QA/QC practices across the Filtration business line, in alignment with Metso's global QEHS policies and guidelines. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with relevant processes, documentation, and Key Performance Indicator metrics and statistics. Your responsibilities will include conducting internal audits and participating in external audits within Lappeenranta and the Filtration business line.
You will foster positive and collaborative relationships with various stakeholders and drive continuous improvement in all quality, environmental, sustainability, and health & safety practices and tools.
Please note that this role requires some domestic and international travel, which will constitute approximately max. 30% of your annual working time.
Team Overview
You will join a management team dedicated fully to Mining and Industrial Filtration solutions. Our team is passionate about driving growth, fostering cohesive teamwork, and managing the full profit and loss responsibilities of the business.
We collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including end customers, Market Area teams driving our operational sales, and the Services team taking care of our after-sales operations. Our team members are in various regions worldwide, with the management team based in Finland (Lappeenranta & Espoo).
What you'll do
In this role, you will ensure that quality, environmental, health, and safety standards are met through compliance, documentation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives, while supporting sustainability and collaborating across business lines.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing relevant external quality accreditations.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, laws, and Metso’s QEHS guidelines, and supporting the business in implementing necessary activities.
- Overseeing QEHS system documentation management and development at both local and Filtration business line levels.
- QEHS compliance management for the Lappeenranta site
- Coordinating the planning and execution of yearly quality management system activities, such as audits and management reviews.
- Monitoring, cooperating, and supporting activities related to corrective and preventive actions from audits or other feedback.
- Monitoring and supporting the documentation, planning, and execution of environmental projects and other sustainability activities.
- Working closely with QEHS colleagues in the Filtration Business line and the Minerals Business Area.
- Executing QEHS campaigns locally in Finland and within the Filtration Business line.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
Who you are
- Passion for Quality, Environment, Sustainability, and Health & Safety: Demonstrated expertise and practical experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems and audits.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Effective communication across teams, including manufacturing, engineering, design, and marketing, to bridge gaps and ensure alignment. Advanced proficiency in English and Finnish.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to tackle complex challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset. Excellent cooperation, communication, training, and documentation skills.
- Decision Making: Ability to make critical decisions daily, balance trade-offs, assess risks, and make informed choices.
