Are you a seasoned engineer ready to take on a pivotal role in shaping major equipment component replacements and leading turnkey projects? We’re looking for a Technical Project Support (Senior Project Engineer) to join our dynamic services team. In this key role, you’ll be crafting innovative solutions and working alongside experienced managers and technicians to set industry standards.

 

Based in Lachine, CA, and Sudbury, CA, this position offers the chance to make a significant impact, with up to 50% travel to customer sites for the execution of the projects. If you’re passionate about driving excellence and becoming a leading reference in the industry, this role is for you!

 

What You’ll do as a Technical Project Support

 

  • Lead with Impact: Spearhead technical planning and execution to deliver top-notch project solutions, ensuring exceptional quality and efficiency.
  • Project Management: Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, adapting as needed to meet project demands and changes.
  • Design Expertise: Prepare detailed mechanical drawings and information packages for the fabrication, construction, and installation of equipment or services aimed at refurbishing, upgrading, or retrofitting.
  • Support Innovation: Create and refine tools and procedures to assist field service representatives during project execution.
  • Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential obstacles and develop effective mitigation strategies for project success.
  • Engineering Excellence: Oversee the design and development of engineering solutions, ensuring alignment with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Effective Communication: Facilitate clear communication between all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members, to align on objectives and progress.
  • Technical Oversight: Review and approve technical documentation, such as design drawings, reports, and specifications, ensuring precision and compliance.
  • Technical Recommendations: Support technical recommendations following equipment inspections, adhering to Metso and industry standards.
  • Innovate: Explore and apply cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to enhance project outcomes, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor the technical project support team, guiding junior project engineers and field service representatives.

 

Who You Are:

  • Experience in heavy industry, with a focus on mineral processing equipment or related products.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Preferred Professional Engineer (P.Eng).
  • In-depth knowledge of Metso equipment, including crushers, mills, pyro, bulk handling systems, screens, process equipment, and pumps.
  • Highly driven with the ability to handle multiple engineering projects, prioritize tasks, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including CAD software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Salesforce. Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with mandatory fluency in English, both oral and written.
