We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to assist with the Engineering requirements (Reliability and certification) for the KSC and Repairs at our State of the Art Service Centre in Karratha on a 5/2 - 4/3 roster. This is a residential role based in Karratha.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Monitor and improve equipment reliability within the Karratha Service Center.
- Attend daily prestart meetings & contribute in a positive way to drive production efficiencies
- Attend weekly planning meetings with the KSC team and liaise with job requirements to drive production efficiencies
- Work closely with KSC operations team to ensure deadlines can be achieved
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with QA/QC and general inspection requirements
- Responsible for completing the mechanical engineering requirements necessary for the safe and efficient completion of repairs, component refurbishment and modifications and all service activities relating to Metso OEM equipment components, complete machines and spare parts
- Responsible for the engineering and safe mounting of components to all rotating equipment (CNC Lathe / Horizontal and Welding Rotator)
- Responsible for the design and engineering of all supports, stands and platforms required for operational purposes
- Responsible for assisting with welding documentation and procedures
- Responsible for assisting with stress relieving process and procedure builds
- Responsible for ensuring all calibrated equipment is kept up to date and catalogued
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives proactively working with the KSC team
- Assist in the investigation of customer queries regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered condition of products
- Assist the Repairs APA team with various engineering and certification requests
WHO YOU ARE:
- Mechanical Engineering qualification/background
- 5 Years + experience in similar field
- Demonstrated commitment to promote health, safety and environment.
- Flexible and cooperative attitude
- Able to work in a team/ team player
- Precision measuring experience and skills
- WA Drivers licence
- Good communication skills
