We are seeking a Technical Service professional to join our Pumps team. In this role, you will support and further develop technical support for the Pumps business line technologies portfolio, providing both onsite and offsite support to our team and customers. You will also collaborate closely with other business teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

 

This position reports to the Director, Pumps and can be based in either Perth or Kalgoorlie.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate all activity related to the MA Pumps BL technologies portfolio technical support.
  • Conduct extensive customer visits, evaluate needs, and communicate insights to Metso Sales & Services.
  • Provide support on commissioning, start-up, performance checks, trials, warranty inspections, parts supply, and training.
  • Deliver high-level technical expertise in troubleshooting, process knowledge, technical incidents, and maintenance through site visits.
  • Participate in warranty claim and customer complaint handling processes.
  • Provide technical information, diagnostic troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and investigation support to internal teams and customers.
  • Ensure seamless collaboration with MA sales & services teams locally and globally.
  • Support development of strong service capabilities with local service teams, including field services and repairs.
  • Identify new service sales opportunities, including installed base mapping.
  • Support Pumps LCS business development and profitable growth strategies.
  • Assist with IB validation, inspection report reviews, recommendations, and solutions.
  • Contribute expertise to problem management, technical sales support, training development, R&D, and product development.
  • Act as a trainer for internal and external technical training related to the Pumps BL portfolio.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong industry, competitor, and process knowledge.

 

Who you are

  • Experience with maintenance and/or rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps.
  • Mechanical trade or Engineering Degree with minimum 2 years’ experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, drawings, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedures.
  • Ability to perform or learn onsite 3D scanning and CAD-based 3D modelling.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current motor vehicle licence.
  • Ability to travel on short notice and work away from home (including extended hours/weekends as required).
