As a key member of the Global Pumps Team, this role is responsible for managing and developing the regional supply base. The position translates business requirements from the Pumps Factory and Business Areas (BAs) into actionable sourcing strategies, development actions, and implementation roadmaps, aligned with Quality and HSEQ standards. The role also drives regional sourcing strategy in close cooperation with the global category team, ensuring alignment with global procurement objectives.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and follow up on RFQs (Requests for Quotation) in Jaggaer.
  • Follow up on RFQs sent to suppliers and ensure lead times.
  • Obtain and compare quotes from various suppliers.
  • Source new suppliers and maintain relationships with existing ones.
  • Negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage inventory levels with the PRIME team.
  • Utilize alternate supply sources to meet demand.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure procurement contracts are complete.
  • Manage all local procurement activities and prepare monthly reports (local & global).
  • Implement commercial strategies in APA, aligned with Pumps Operation goals.
  • Coordinate with strategic areas (Sales, Planning, Production, HSE, Quality, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct manager
  • Develop and implement regional sourcing strategies in alignment with global category management and business objectives.
  • Working closely with the global category team to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that support the region.
  • Analyze regional market trends and supply risks, and proactively propose mitigation actions.
  • Participate in cross-functional and cross-regional sourcing projects, including supplier development and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support the global category team in supplier segmentation, performance management, and strategic supplier relationship management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, tools, and supplier collaboration within the region.
  • Regular supplier audits and visits on-site to help improve performance in the QD program


Work Conditions:

Office-based, with occasional travel as required for supplier and global team meetings

 

Position Requirements:

Education: Degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.

Experience: 3–7 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.

 

Desired Knowledge:

  • Sourcing strategy development and implementation
  • Supplier negotiation and relationship management
  • Understanding of mechanical designs and industrial/mining equipment
  • Advanced SAP (Purchasing Modules), intermediate MS Office
  • Specialization in supply chain management
  • Experience with global and cross-functional teams

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management
  • Proficiency in MS Project, SAP, Power BI
  • Advanced English (written and spoken)
