The role
We are seeking a proactive Senior Project Logistics and Procurement Specialist who consistently demonstrates initiative, anticipates project needs, and takes decisive action to drive results. focuses on capital project deliveries in line with project schedule and budget in the Minerals Business Area. The role supports complex projects with logistics within the Indonesian and South-East Asia market area, alongside end-to-end procurement for the local supply base. The role is responsible for supporting import and export of deliveries, driving improvements in supplier performance, price and lead times, mitigating risk and applying a strategic lens to Project Logistics and Procurement. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments, identifies opportunities for improvement, and collaborates effectively to implement solutions.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate ability to manage multiple project deliveries in line with project schedule and budget, and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Duties will include but are not limited to:-
- Owning end-to-end project logistics, ensuring on-time delivery aligned to project schedules.
- Manage logistics service providers, including performance, cost, and issue resolution
- Oversee import/export and customs processes in Indonesia, ensuring compliance with local regulations (e.g. HS codes, import duties and taxes, iron and steel permit procedures, facilitating SNI exemption, bonded warehouse end-to-end processes, and arranging pre-inspections for plastic and electronic goods into Indonesia).
- Collaborate with the Metso Indonesia Trade Compliance Specialist to ensure accurate HS code classification and validation in line with local regulatory requirements.
- Proactively resolve customs clearance, port, and regulatory issues impacting delivery Lead sourcing of logistics and project-related services in line with corporate policies
- Develop RFQs, evaluate suppliers, negotiate commercial terms, and manage purchase orders in SAP
- Drive expediting of orders and shipments to meet OTA/OTD targets, identifying and mitigating risks early
- Maintain accurate order book and delivery forecasts, ensuring strong system discipline
- Monitor logistics costs vs budget and deliver cost-saving initiatives
- Manage invoicing, goods receipting, and resolve supplier and PO-related issues
Essential
- Strong communication skills (English and Indonesian), both written and verbal
- Strong understanding of international end-to-end logistics and procurement process, including order creation, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Project Coordination: Experience working in international cross-functional teams and managing procurement activities to support project and product requirements.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in creating and tracking purchase orders and monitoring supplier performance.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of International Logistics procedures in air/ocean freight, and domestic transport including understanding Incoterms
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SAP Experience (MM Module)
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Experience in mining / construction /heavy equipment industry preferred.
