Introduction

 

We are looking for a Warehouse Specialist (Mexico Operations) to join our Services (SVS) Global Logistics Operations (GLO) - NCA Warehouse team. You will be responsible for managing the 3PL logistics partner in our Mexico Distribution Center, including warehousing, packaging, and value-added services, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. This involves overseeing warehouse operations, optimizing processes and systems, enhancing cost-efficiency, and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. Your role plays a crucial part in improving warehouse performance and service delivery across the region, which will contribute to enhanced customer support, operational efficiency, and business success. In this position, you will report to the Head of Warehousing, NCA.

 

This position is mainly located in Irapuato, Mexico, although other Metso locations may be considered. We are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options; however, the role involves up to 30% travel, including international travel.

You will join a team of warehouse logistics professionals who are passionate about delivering high-performing aftermarket distribution center operations and continuously improving logistics services. We are currently working on enhancing warehouse operational performance, cost-efficiency, and service solutions, while also managing warehousing, packaging, value-added services, and continuous improvement initiatives across the region.

We collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as 3PL logistics partners, warehouse teams, operations leaders, and cross-functional business stakeholders. The members of our team are located in Mexico, North and Central America, and across Metso's global logistics network.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day warehouse operations and the performance of 3PL logistics partners across warehousing, packaging, and value-added services.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve operational performance, service levels, and customer support.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost-efficiency, productivity, and service quality using Lean methodologies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards and promote a strong safety culture within warehouse operations.
  • Analyze warehouse performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement process and system optimizations.
  • Monitor warehouse processes, inventory flows, and logistics activities to ensure operational excellence and reliable execution.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with logistics service providers and key business stakeholders.
  • Support strategic warehousing initiatives and perform additional operational tasks as required to meet business objectives.

 

What you’ll bring

 

  • Proven experience in logistics and warehousing, including managing warehouse operations, processes, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Strong management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead projects, contracts, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse processes, systems, and operational best practices.Experience applying Lean continuous improvement methodologies to drive operational excellence and efficiency gains.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strategic and forward-thinking mindset, combined with strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with SAP S/4HANA and fluency in both Spanish and English. Ability to travel within the region up to 30% of the time.
