Introduction
We are looking for a Tax Leader to join our Market Area Sales and Service Mexico Finance team. You will be responsible for leading tax compliance, tax reporting, and corporate tax processes for Mexico and Panama entities, which involves coordinating tax calculations, statutory filings, audits, transfer pricing compliance, and tax-related accounting activities. Your role plays a crucial part in ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating tax risks, and supporting sound financial decision-making, which will positively impact business performance and operational integrity. In this position, you will report to the Regional Accounting Manager for Mexico and Central America.
This position is mainly located in Irapuato, Guanajuato, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.
Team you belong to
You will join a team of Finance and Tax experts dedicated to providing high-quality financial and tax solutions while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. We are currently working on tax compliance, transfer pricing management, audit support, tax reporting, and continuous improvement of tax processes and controls.
We collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Corporate teams, as well as external stakeholders including tax authorities, auditors, and tax advisors. Our team culture is all about collaboration, problem-solving, compliance, accountability, and delivering effective solutions for the business. The members in our team are located in Mexico, while collaborating closely with global and regional stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Lead tax compliance activities for Mexico and Panama entities, ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting and filings.
- Prepare monthly estimated and annual corporate income tax calculations, tax provisions, and related accounting entries.
- Coordinate tax payments and oversee compliance with local tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Manage transfer pricing compliance, including studies, documentation, and statutory filings.
- Lead responses to tax audits, governmental requests, and interactions with tax authorities.
- Support external audits by providing tax documentation, analysis, and technical expertise.
- Ensure compliance with CFDI requirements, tax registrations, electronic certificates, and other regulatory obligations.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and proactively implement actions to ensure ongoing compliance while minimizing business risks.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate taxation and tax accounting, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican tax regulations, tax compliance requirements, and transfer pricing practices; exposure to
- Panama tax regulations is an advantage.
- Experience working with SAP, SAT platforms, and tax compliance applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative, multicultural, and fast-paced environments.
- Nice to have: Previous Big Four experience and exposure to mining, engineering, industrial, or construction industries.
