QHSE Intern

Primary Location: 

Irapuato, GUA, MX

Essential Functions

1. Comply with the policies and procedures established by the QHSE area.

2. Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of technical and administrative information.

3. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement (quality) in the organization.

4. Timely notify any incident, act or unsafe condition to the immediate responsible.

5. Contribute with proposals to improve the working conditions and environmental processes.

6. Support administrative and operational tasks related to improvement projects or regulatory compliance.

7. Interacts with suppliers, to ensure that their products meet the company's needs.

8. Oversight of the entire production cycle monitoring quality failures, safety and environmental risks.

 

Job duties and responsibilities

• Support in the implementation and monitoring of safety, occupational health and environmental programs.

• Participate in safety inspections and routine plant/office tours.

• Collaborate in the development and updating of risk matrices and environmental aspects.

• Support in the investigation of incidents, near misses and unsafe acts.

• Provide support in internal and external audits (preparation of evidence, accompaniment, follow-up of findings).

• Manage the physical and digital archive of QHSE management system documentation (procedures, instructions, forms, permits, etc.).

• Provide support in internal training: logistics, assistance, document control and follow-up.

• Participate in awareness campaigns and preventive culture activities.

• Support in the follow-up of the internal calibration and verification plan.

• Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits. Other duties

• Generate HIRAC (risk analysis).

• Generate Risk Observations.

• Generate Safety Conversations.

• Generate 5 minutes safety talks.

• Participate in the different brigades to which you are called.

 

Supervisory responsibilities

• This position doesn’t have direct supervisory responsibilities.

• Employees are expected to align with Metso's leadership principles.

• This position reports directly to the QHSE Specialist.

 

Travel

Not required for this position.

 

Qualifications

Education: University degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Health and Safety or related areas. (Recently graduate)

Experience: 6 months.

Basic knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards (desirable).

English language skills (basic)

Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Good observation, analysis and communication skills; proactive attitude, organized, willing to learn and collaborate.
