Introduction

Important: This position is for temporary support. Continuation will be subject to business needs.


We are looking for a Purchasing Engineer to join our Mexico team. You will be responsible of operational procurement activities for the Mexico DDH for materials related to the business, you will report to the General Manager.

This position is mainly located in Irapuato, Guanajuato MX.

You will join a team of Procurement Specialists focused on take action to ensure deliveries, engange with suppliers and providing solutions to all the stakeholders 

We collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, such as engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and finance teams. Our team culture is all about providing the best solutions for the internal stakeholders.   


What you’ll do:

  • Plan and Execute: Collaborate with engineer teams to plan deliveries and align with the production schedule, ensuring timely availability of raw materials.
  • Supplier Relations: Engage with suppliers on pricing, lead times, payment terms, and expedite orders to ensure we stay on track.
  • Analyze and Optimize: Monitor delivery schedules and production plans to identify any potential risks and take action to avoid delays.
  • Manage Procurement Documents: Handle purchase orders, quotations, and price lists, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Track Performance: Maintain KPIs at optimal levels, consistently striving for improvement.
  • Cost-Saving Strategies: Identify and implement actions to improve procurement efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Reporting & Coordination: Prepare and send reports on procurement activities and work closely with the supply team to keep everyone informed.
  • Support Management: Respond to internal requests and assist the management team in meeting their goals.
  • Collaboration & Respect: Work effectively with internal teams and external partners, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and cooperative effort.
  • Effective Prioritization: Manage competing priorities with ease, developing clear action plans to meet deadlines.

 

What you’ll bring

  • Experienced Professional: You have a strong background in both business and technical procurement functions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in engineered projects, or with fabricated and machined products, is highly desirable.
  • Strategic Thinker: You can translate operational procurement needs into an actionable supplier search and development process.
  • Tech-Savvy: You have the ability to read technical drawings (preferred, but not mandatory), and familiarity with SAP business systems is a plus.
  • Bilingual: Proficiency in both English and Spanish, written and spoken, at a professional level is essential.
  • Organized & Analytical: Your strong organizational and analytical skills allow you to handle complex tasks with precision.
  • Engineering Degree is desirable.
