Production Planner

Primary Location: 

Irapuato, GUA, MX

Summary 

This position assures the planning, organization and coordination of the processes and activities carried out in the production area; maintaining the production planning and optimizing the resources in a schedule to ensure the fulfillment of order delivery to the customer.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, elaborate and develop scheduling programs using different tools (i.e., SAP, planning tables, Gantt chart, and MS Office) to plan the execution of production processes, involving all productive and strategic areas.
  • Lead daily operation meetings, involving all supply chain areas (procurement, manufacturing unit, design, logistics and customer service) according to the current Management System.
  • Coordinate and organize special meetings when required to manage rush, special or breakdown orders with the required areas around the supply chain.
  • Keep updated the planning tools and reports to run KPI’s reports. Production backlog, backlog hours, maintenance of work centers and capacities in different reports and SAP to achieve the objectives.
  • Manage the coordination of production according to order demands (i.e., stock materials, planned orders, production orders and others).
  • Confirmation of production dates and coordination of the processes according to the different scenarios of the orders (ETO, MTO, MTS)
  • Have a complete view and communication with mold assembly area in the manufacturing unit, to request and use the inventory information from them for the production planning and identify critical mold parts, productivity solutions and investments.
  • Run proper reports to analyze the production planning, strategic planning and lead times, database maintenance and constant update of procedures, formats, and registers for the area.
  • Follow the procedures, instructions, and documents of the latest Management System.
  • Report any incident, accident or risk condition that may affect the safety and health of people, equipment, or environment.
  • Comply with the internal rules and regulations of the company.
  • Ensure that the customer approach is promoted throughout the organization.
  • For this role, you must respect the security rules in the office and operation floor; use your complete personal protection equipment. You must consider work in ergonomic positions during your work time.
  • Conscious use of the paper and electric energy, turn off the equipment when are not being used.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Engineering bachelor’s or master’s degree (mathematical physicist or related).
  • Minimum 2-year experience in production planning and manufacturing.
  • Experience working with machine and parts drawings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High understanding of customer needs.
  • Familiarity with the broad range of vulcanization of rubber products.
  • A strong understanding of core processes of the Supply Chain.
  • Have basic knowledge of import and export processes is an advantage.
  • High level of English, able to make presentations in English with people of different nationalities
  • Strong abilities in Microsoft Office 365 apps.
  • Have knowledge of SAP in the PMM module is an advantage
