Engineering Trainee

JOB STATEMENT

Service Engineer is responsible for the support and technical services within the assigned territory.  This Engineer will be capable of providing technical support to customers.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Preparing reports on customer service.
• Coordination of services with client and contractors.
• Support and technical support to sales staff. • Preparation and delivery of training to clients. • Attention to customers via email or telephone when requested.
• Technical advice from our teams and field competition.
• Send via email weekly planning to sales and service staff.
• Make good use of assigned vehicle and tools.
• Managing financial resources allocated for your trip.
•  Introduce training necessary for their development.
• Quality control of components.

• Generate proposals for continuous improvements in Metso Outotec

  • Work of engineering, equipment supply, and installation process.
  • Work in liaison as technical support.
  • Maintain a site Health & Safety program as defined by each project.
  • During contract execution, apply all mechanical knowledge

 

RELATIONSHIPS

 

  • Reports directly to Spot service Manager

 

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL INTERFACES

  • Service organization
  • Mining BL Contract Managers
  • Local Accounting/Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Safety & Health organization
  • Customers
  • Suppliers
  • Local and foreign manufacturing plants.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Engineer, related experience in progressively responsible positions preferred.
  • Experience in maintenance processes
  • Work safely on stairs, ladders and scaffolding, occasionally at extreme heights.
  • Work in a variety of environments, which may include exposure to extreme heat, humidity.
  • Familiarity with service activities in mines. Specific experience associated with service contracts is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of service and support process and practices
  • Ability to work under stress and meet the deadlines.

Take direction when needed on specific opportunities

  • Must be capable of effectively and prioritizing tasks and working in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. 
  • The employee is constantly required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. 
  • The employee must constantly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Climbing of stairs, ladders, scaffolds at jobsites and customer facilities.
