Position-Sr. Specialist, Backlog & Exception Management
About the Role
The Backlog & Exception Management Specialist plays a critical role in managing and improving backlog execution across the Market Area.
Backlog represents all open customer commitments with execution risk, and effective management requires structured prioritisation, clear ownership, and disciplined escalation.
In this role, you will work closely with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Operations to ensure backlog is actively managed, exceptions are resolved, and customer commitments are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Manage daily backlog execution, including monitoring backlog health, ageing, and risks
- Identify and prioritise exception cases, ensuring timely resolution and escalation
- Support accurate ATP and customer-date management
- Proactive actions to monitor the orders and ensure all the timely actions to meet on-time delivery.
- Data accuracy by identifying the gaps and improvement actions.
- Coordinate with sales/customer service teams to expedite the net sales activities.
- Coordinate expediting activities for critical customer orders
- Provide visibility through backlog reporting, analytics, and KPIs
- Drive structured escalation where customer commitments are at risk
- Work cross-functionally to align execution across Business Areas and Market Areas
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate:
- 5-6 years of experience in Customer Service, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations
- Strong understanding of order execution, backlog management, or customer delivery processes
- Ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, complex environment
- SAP S/4 HANA or similar ERP experience
- Confidence in managing escalations and working across multiple stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with attention to data accuracy and detail
- Strong communication skills and customer focus
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
