We are looking for a Senior Manager, Regional Logistics Sourcing, Asia Pacific to join Metso’s Logistics Sourcing team. Regional Logistics Sourcing is responsible for executing the global logistics sourcing strategy at regional level by running regional tenders, managing supplier relationships, and driving tactical sourcing and continuous improvement together with regional logistics and Business Areas.
The main location for this position is India. Secondary location options are Australia, China, and Indonesia. Flexible working arrangements (including hybrid options) are available depending on location. This role requires travel within the region as needed (approximately 25%).
You will report to the Director, Logistics Sourcing & Sustainability.
What you'll do:
- Execute global logistics sourcing strategies within Asia Pacific through regional and market-area tenders aligned to the global roadmap,
- Lead regional negotiations and supplier implementations, ensuring agreed services, rates, and ways of working are deployed effectively with operations,
- Own the regional supplier management cadence (performance follow-up, SOPs, and escalation) and drive continuous improvement in service, cost, and sustainability, and
- Ensure adherence to global guidelines and data standards by maintaining regional updates in systems, monitoring market developments, and supporting Business Areas with sourcing-related needs—escalating topics to global level when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Regional Supplier Management: Manage and develop regional supplier relationships within the nominated LSP pool; act as a key contact between sourcing and operations and support issue resolution and escalations.
- Regional Tenders & Negotiations: Run regional and market-area tenders according to global strategy guidelines and plans; lead negotiations and ensure implementation of selected suppliers, rates, and service solutions.
- Performance, SOPs & Operational Excellence: Own the regional meeting cadence and performance follow-up; maintain and drive regional SOPs; and work closely with logistics operations to improve on-time delivery, quality, and total cost.
- Data, Compliance & Tools: Ensure adherence to global sourcing rules, reporting guidelines, and data quality standards. Manage regional data changes and updates in relevant systems and support rate and supplier master data accuracy.
- Market Intelligence & Supplier Coverage: Monitor regional market changes, identify gaps and needs for new suppliers or services, and share insights and proposals with global category sourcing to strengthen the LSP pool and service offering.
- Business Support & Escalation: Support Business Areas and market areas on cost and service needs; partner with operations on LSP issues; and escalate topics to global level when required to ensure alignment and timely decision-making.
Who you are
- Several years of experience in logistics procurement or in logistics
- Hands-on experience running regional tenders, leading negotiations, and implementing suppliers
- Strong capability in supplier performance management, cost drivers, and using data to identify improvement and savings opportunities
- Experience with sourcing and logistics tools and strong attention to data quality
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate in a multicultural, matrix organization and drive alignment between sourcing and operations
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
