Role Overview
We are seeking a Deputy Manager – Proposal Management to join our dynamic, globally dispersed After Sales team supporting the Middle East & India (MEI) region. Based in Gurugram, you will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality customer proposals that align with internal standards and exceed customer expectations.
You are an experienced communicator and proposal writer, adept at using Salesforce, MS Office, and SAP, with a strong grasp of value-based selling principles. Your ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies will be crucial to driving business success and supporting growth within the After Sales segment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, prepare, and submit compliant and competitive proposals in response to customer RFQs, ensuring adherence to legal, commercial, and technical requirements.
- Manage proposals for Life Cycle Solutions (LCS), Metso-Owned Inventory (MOI), Professional Services, and Repair & Refurbishment offers.
- Consolidate cross–business line quotations into comprehensive, unified customer offers while ensuring alignment of commercial terms.
- Ensure compliance with Metso’s Terms & Conditions, internal approval processes, and governance policies.
- Translate and localize proposal content when necessary to meet regional customer requirements.
- Utilize standardized templates, value-based selling tools, and proposal best practices to enhance content quality and presentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Salesforce and ensure adherence to customer-specific RFQ submission protocols.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure proposals accurately reflect current offerings, pricing structures, and delivery capabilities.
- Represent Metso’s brand professionally in all customer communications and interactions.
- Safeguard company intellectual property and ensure compliance with internal control and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science, with minimum 7–10 years of experience in proposal writing, estimation, or related functions.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems and product lifecycle management of equipment used of Aggregate and mining industry e.g. Crushing and Screening, filtration and material handling equipment.
- Proven experience in procurement, proposal management, sales processes, and commercial negotiations.
- Strong understanding of service business models and engineered-to-order (ETO) solutions.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, Salesforce CRM, and SAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex customer requirements and develop persuasive, value-driven proposals.
- Skilled in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Passionate about continuous improvement, innovation, and implementation of best practices.
- Willingness to travel 10–20% of the time as required.
