JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION PLANNER BASED IN GERMISTON, GAUTENG

We are seeking a Production Planner to join our Production Team.    

 

In this position, you will report to the Delivery Manager.

This position is mainly located in Germiston, Gauteng.

 

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

You will join the Quote and Order Management Team and work closely with internal // external stakeholders, such as Management, Suppliers, Sub-Contractors, Clients, Supply and the Sales Team.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Carry out the production planning process from capacity planning to the finished product
  • Create production orders, form work and production plans based on defined SAP process and capacity data
  • Ensure and maintain standard delivery times for products, based on production planning processes, according to defined product groups
  • Run production orders with the required availability of raw materials
  • Visualize, ensure, maintain and constantly update the production schedule of the most important customer orders, according to the established plan and taking into account the guidelines of the established process manager
  • Track, check KPIs (key performance indicators), identify weak points and take action to improve production planning indicators
  • Manage and continuously update the allocated production capacities, take active action in the management of weak points and take countermeasures to produce products on time
  • Use, continuously monitor and update the graphical production planning module
  • Respond to internal inquiries by providing the standard product price and production completion deadline according to the established capacity of the production processes
  • Initiate, propose and implement projects or improvements in your department
  • To adapt the daily work in accordance with LEAN principles and continuous improvement processes
  • To carry out work in accordance with the procedures, processes, policies, and values approved by Metso
  • Ensure adherence to Metso's vision and strategies
  • To ensure compliance with occupational safety, fire safety and environmental requirements, to suspend works and to solve emerging occupational safety threats
  • Participate in the investigation of incidents and accidents that have occurred

 

 

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Bachelor's degree in Industry/Manufacturing/Technical/Engineering/Logistics
  • At least two years of experience in industry/manufacturing engineering, products/or similar field
  • SAP and Excel experience
  • Knowledge of LEAN mindsets, concepts and tools
  • Professional Office360 user
