Introduction

 

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components, which involves using CAD software and conducting experiments to improve product designs. Your role plays a crucial part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our mechanical systems, which will contribute to the overall success and innovation of our projects. In this position, you will report to the Product Engineering Manager.
 

This position is mainly located in Gastonia, NC but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. The role will require 20% of travel.

You will join a team of mechanical engineering experts dedicated to designing and developing innovative mechanical systems. We are passionate about creating efficient and reliable solutions and strive to deliver excellence in every project. We are currently developing advanced mechanical components and working on optimizing existing systems.

We work closely with internal stakeholders, such as engineering teams and product managers, and external stakeholders, such as clients and suppliers. Our team culture is all about collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. The members in our team are located in Gastonia, NC.


What You’ll Do

  • Design and Development: Efficiently and accurately perform 3D and 2D designs using AutoDesk Inventor and utilize FEA software to complete designs.
  • Technical Analysis: Read and utilize information from diagrams, previous designs, and vendor drawings. Perform calculations to determine loads and stresses with structural steel.
  • Quality Assurance: Check mechanical drawings and their bills of material for completeness, accuracy, neatness, and conformance to recognized drafting practices, company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the local team, global engineering team, and multiple interfaces such as manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to develop, improve, and validate parts and products.
  • Innovation: Drive design activities to find and evaluate technical solutions, visualize different technical solutions, and document various technical solutions as needed.
  • Communication: Ensure alignment and collaboration through effective communication. Help collate and analyze needed technical data and perform other administrative tasks as required.
     

Who You Are
 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related areas).
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in relevant fields such as heavy machinery and manufacturing, OEM experience, etc.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD (preferably Inventor) and a basic understanding of CAE. Knowledge of manufacturing and assembling methodologies, Bill of Materials, and product cost.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and PLM/PDM systems (preferably Teamcenter).
  • Personal Attributes: Ability to visualize various technical solutions, take initiative, organize, and communicate effectively. Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous.
  • Licenses: Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
