We’re seeking an experienced Vice President, Supply Quality Development, for our Minerals Supplier Quality organisation.
In this senior leadership role, you will define and drive Minerals’ global supplier quality and sustainability agenda. You will be accountable for supplier quality and development across BA Minerals, ensuring high performance, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the global supply base.
You will lead a global quality organization within Minerals Procurement and work closely with internal stakeholders and global suppliers to deliver robust quality, HSE, and sustainability outcomes aligned with business priorities. A key part of the role is leading the adoption of Artificial Intelligence and digital solutions to strengthen operational excellence, quality performance, and long-term sustainability.

Reporting to: Global Procurement Function Head – BA Minerals
Main Responsibilities
- Define and lead Minerals’ global supplier quality and sustainability strategy and roadmap.
- Own Supplier Quality and Development for BA Minerals, including global supplier development, capability assessments, audits, and systemic issue resolution.
- Lead and develop the global quality team within Minerals Procurement, ensuring compliance with technical, contractual, quality, HSE, and sustainability requirements.
- Drive supplier performance and continuous improvement through the deployment of the Minerals Quality Assurance Program and effective monitoring of quality processes and outcomes.
- Serve as the primary quality interface with global suppliers, representing Metso’s interests and advancing supplier development initiatives.
- Address systemic and high-impact quality issues in close collaboration with internal stakeholders to prevent recurrence and strengthen overall performance.
- Support customer projects and engagements by providing senior-level quality expertise and reinforcing confidence in Metso’s quality systems and delivery capability.
- Lead AI‑driven and digital quality initiatives, ensuring ethical, secure, and compliant use of data while delivering measurable improvements in quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.
Who you are
- Extensive senior‑level experience in the mining or heavy industrial equipment sector, including long‑term global leadership responsibility for quality, supplier development, engineering, or related functions.
- Relevant engineering degree (Bachelor’s required); Master’s degree, MBA, or postgraduate studies are an advantage.
- Strong expertise in quality management and international quality standards; Lean Six Sigma, auditor, or similar certifications are beneficial.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and product quality assurance in the mining industry.
- Proven experience leading AI‑ and data‑driven quality and operational excellence initiatives.
- Strategic, performance‑driven leader with strong people, communication, and stakeholder management skills in multicultural environments.
- Analytical, resilient, and business‑oriented, with a strong continuous improvement mindset.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Willing and able to travel internationally on short notice.
