As Vice President, Performance Solutions, you will lead one of Minerals BA's strategically important functions, bringing together project delivery, Minerals processing solutions, solution sales, QEHS and sales and project excellence development capabilities into a strong global function. In this role, you will further develop Performance Solutions as a clear and focused Minerals capability, serving our customers, business lines, and market areas. You will drive growth, profitability, and competitiveness improvement, while strengthening execution performance, stakeholder collaboration, and ways of working across the organization.
The preferred location for this role is Espoo, Finland, though we offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.
The team you belong to
The Performance Solutions function is part of the Minerals business area. You will lead a global organization of approximately 340 professionals. You will report to Piia Karhu, President of the Minerals business area, and be a member of the Minerals business area leadership team.
Performance Solutions' function includes
- Plant and Solutions Delivery, responsible for the delivery of projects consisting of multiple process areas in minerals concentrator and metals refining plants.
- Site and Commissioning Management, responsible for global sites and commissioning activities across Minerals BA plant deliveries.
- Minerals Processing Solutions and related technology competence, supporting flowsheet solution development and sales and delivery execution.
- Plant & Solution Sales, responsible for cross-Business line and cross-Business area solution sales execution and proposals.
- Commercial Management, responsible for supporting project delivery with commercial governance, contract management, and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
- India Engineering, a key global capability providing engineering expertise for Business Lines and project delivery across the Minerals business area
- QEHS, driving the Minerals business area quality, environment, health, and safety agenda and ensuring high standards across the organization.
- Project Excellence, developing processes, tools, and policies to improve project execution and profitability.
- Sales Excellence, developing sales processes, tools, analytics, and performance management to strengthen commercial effectiveness across the Minerals business area sales.
What you’ll do
- Lead the Performance Solutions function and develop it as a clear, focused Minerals segment capability serving customers, business lines, and market areas.
- Drive growth, profitability, and competitiveness in project delivery, integrated solution sales, and solutions development.
- Ensure successful execution of complex project deliveries and major projects across the Minerals portfolio.
- Oversee site and commissioning management, cost estimation, commercial management, and project excellence to improve execution performance.
- Lead the integration of tools, processes, ways of working, process development, and AI-enabled business development initiatives across Performance Solutions.
- Manage and develop a global organization of approximately 340 professionals, fostering high performance, collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Who you are
- Strong track record in delivering business results, transformation, and operational performance in a global industrial or technology-driven environment.
- Experience in leading complex solution sales, project delivery, engineering, technology, or process development organizations in an international matrix setting.
- Ability to connect strategy with execution, balancing commercial growth, delivery performance, customer value, and long-term capability development.
- Strong understanding of minerals processing, plant solutions, project business, aftermarket interfaces, and technology-enabled service models is considered an advantage.
- Proven ability to drive change, clarify priorities, align stakeholders, and build effective operating models across global teams.
- Passion for developing high-performing, collaborative teams across countries, cultures, and disciplines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the credibility to influence at the executive level.
- University degree in engineering, business, or another relevant field.
