Metso IP & Tech Legal is part of Metso’s Legal and Compliance function. We provide legal expertise and support in diverse IP & Tech-related matters, such as global policies, guidelines, and instructions as well as IP protection, enforcement, dispute resolution, and IP & Tech-related agreements.

 

We are now looking for a third- or fourth-year law student to work as a Legal Trainee at Metso HQ in Espoo. The working hours are part-time (approx. 3 days a week), and the contract period is 12 months starting on 1 June 2026.

 

As a Legal Trainee – IP & Tech, you will support our lawyers in:

 

  • Assisting various IP law-related matters, including IP infringement cases, enforcement, and dispute resolution.
  • Managing the corporate trademark portfolio and supporting brand protection activities.
  • Contributing to different projects, such as trainings and presentations.
  • Developing internal IP & Tech-related directives, guidelines, and policies.
  • Reviewing and drafting IP & Tech-related agreements.
  • Coordinating meetings and assisting with other administrative and paralegal tasks.
  • Communicating with authorities globally.

 

Who You Are

 

  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn more. We are looking for a proactive individual with a can-do approach, who shows initiative, ability, and adaptability. You enjoy challenges and like working as part of a team but also independently.
  • High level of flexibility and willingness to take on diverse tasks.
  • Genuine interest in intellectual property and tech law.
  • Fluent communication skills in Finnish and English. Other language skills and study exchange programs or work experience abroad are an asset.
  • At least half of your law studies completed. Additionally, prior work experience in IP & Tech matters (e.g. in a law firm, in-house legal department) is considered a benefit.
