We are seeking a Technology Manager in the Metallurgical Center of Excellence, Concentrator Plant Technologies Tea.

The main purpose of this role is to deliver the most competitive techno-economic solution in Concentrator plant & Plant unit sales and delivery projects to enable profitable growth of the Minerals BA of Metso.

Your office location will ideally be in Espoo, Finland. To be effective in this position you will also be expected to spend time traveling and meeting our customers and other stakeholders.

What you’ll do 

• Act as the technology lead in different projects: e.g. scoping and feasibility studies, basic engineering, and sales projects
• Develop process solutions for concentrator projects, including flow sheets on expert-level
• Model and simulate the entire concentrator plant process and process equipment configuration
• Plan and interpret minerals processing flowsheet development test works
• Ensure inclusion of ‘ready for market’ new products and technology advances in the solution
• Lead technical sales of concentrator plant and process island solutions for PG by choosing fit-for-purpose process solutions, unit processes, and process equipment and increasing competitiveness in the offered solutions
• Identify, own, mitigate, and manage technology risks in both the sales and delivery phases of the projects
• Take the lead in concentrator plant commissionings and start-ups
• Led and execute process audits, circuit surveys, troubleshooting, and process optimizations
• Take part in R&D projects and in the development of new technologies and expert systems, including digital solutions
• Act as a mentor/team lead for younger colleagues

Who You Are 

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in minerals processing/chemical engineering/metallurgy or similar
• Strong experience in the minerals processing industry, including experience in process & plant design, operation, commissioning, ramp-up & optimization of mineral processing plants and products
• Good theoretical and practical understanding of mineral processing including comminution, flotation, physical separation, dewatering, and process control
• Hydrometallurgical knowhow is an advantage
• Experience in the application of process simulation & design software tools (e.g. HSC Chemistry) for concentrator plant design
• Good and proactive teamwork skills in an international multi-location organization
• To be willing to travel abroad for both short and long-term assignments
• Fluent written and spoken English skills. Other major language skills (e.g. Portuguese/Spanish/Russian) are seen as an asset, but not mandatory
