We are seeking a Technical Product Manager, Courier 6G, to join our Automation / Analyzer Products Group. You will be responsible for delivering the world’s most competitive PG products to the market, which involves product management, product development, technical support on sales, product delivery and commissioning and troubleshooting at our customers. Your role plays a crucial part in increasing customer value and improving process performance, which will contribute to more efficient utilization of energy, water and environment and to Metso’s growth in minerals processing business. In this position, you will report to Director, Analyzer Products. 

 

 

This position is mainly located in Espoo, Finland, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.  

 

 

Team you belong to 

 

 

You will join a team of Analyzer Products Group in the Automation PG of the MIN Separation BL dedicated to sustainable ore-to-metal process performance through intelligent control and precise data​. We are currently working on next-generation Courier analyzers with improved usability and safety features. We are building virtual software platform to enable compliancy with new cyber security standards. 

 


We work closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as customers, sales, marketing, project delivery, services, suppliers, quality and safety, research centers and universities. Our team culture is all about succeeding together and building trust.  The members in our team are located in Espoo, which is also home to part of our test facilities. 

 

 

What you’ll do 

 

 

  • Be responsible for product management, development, road mapping and product cost management.
  • Manage required improvements and new revisions over product lifetime in PDM system and tools. Support software development, plan product releases and ensure timely software updates for new features and hot fixes.
  • Follow and improve product quality by collecting feedback from global organization and customers to analyze need for product modifications and improvements.
  • Support customer problem solving, product delivery and commissioning. Provide essential maintenance and operational support to customers, focusing mainly on Courier XRF analyzer for gold applications.
  • Work with subcontractors and component suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Share product-related knowledge across the global technical support, sales, and service organization through training and information sharing.
  • Contribute to R&D activities and new product development, while providing support to the R&D team during beta testing and the production start-up phase.
  • Ensure implementation of best practices in Design to Cost, Product Sourcing, Design to Service, Product Marketing and competitor follow up.
  • Create and maintain content for marketing, technical papers, etc. 

 

 

Who you are 

 

 

  • M.Sc. in mechanical engineering, automation/process control engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, or equivalent
  • Strong experience in product management, measurement technologies and/or customer technical support.
  • Technical understanding about measurement technologies (e.g. XRF), production processes, services and how to create customer value
  • Able to empower people, lead, delegate, make decisions, and drive results
  • Able to plan, organize and adapt  
  • Eager to learn new things and ways of working
  • Able to travel globally as required
  • Previous experience of elemental analyzing methods and/or minerals processing operations is seen as an asset
  • Fluent English skills, both spoken and written. Finnish language skills are seen as an asset.
