We are seeking a Senior Process Metallurgist in the Metallurgical Center of Excellence.
The primary purpose of this role is to deliver the most competitive technology solution in Concentrator plants and Complex Technology packages and delivery projects to enable profitable growth of the BA Minerals business of Metso.

The job location is preferably in Finland, but this is negotiable.
You will also be expected to travel and meet our customers and other stakeholders to be effective in this position.
What you’ll do
- Conduct work as lead process engineer in different projects, e.g. scoping and feasibility studies, basic engineering, and sales projects
- Develop process solutions for concentrator plant projects, including flow sheets on an expert level
- Model and simulate the entire concentrator plant process and process equipment configuration
- Plan and interpret minerals processing flowsheet development test works
- Support sales function in choosing fit-for-purpose process solutions, unit processes, process equipment and increasing competitiveness in the offered solutions
- Participate in concentrator plant commissioning and start-ups
- Perform process audits, circuit surveys, troubleshooting, and process optimizations
- Take part in R&D projects where applicable
who you are
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in minerals processing/chemical engineering/metallurgy or similar
- Strong experience in the minerals processing industry, including experience in process & plant design, operation, commissioning, ramp-up & optimization of mineral processing plants and products
- Good theoretical and practical understanding of minerals processing, including comminution, flotation, physical separation, dewatering, and process control
- Hydrometallurgical knowledge is an advantage
- Experience in the application of process simulation & design software tools (e.g. HSC Chemistry) for concentrator plant design
- Good and proactive teamwork skills in an international multi-location organization
- To be willing to travel abroad for both short and long-term assignments
- Fluent written and spoken English skills. Other primary language skills (e.g. Portuguese/Spanish, Russian) are seen as an asset but not mandatory
