We are looking for a Senior Manager, Category Sourcing, Ground Transportation & Courier to join our Logistics Sourcing team at Metso. Logistics Sourcing is responsible for group-wide logistics category sourcing, centrally led, including supplier portfolio management, sourcing strategy, and governance. In this role, you will own and drive the global category strategy for ground transportation and courier services—working with regional stakeholders to execute the strategy through tenders, supplier performance management, and continuous improvement across Business Areas.

 

The preferred location for this position is Espoo, Tampere, or Lappeenranta (Finland).

 

This role requires travel of approximately 25%.

 

You will report to Toni Korpimäki, Director, Logistics Sourcing and Sustainability.

 

 

What you'll do

 

  • Own the global category strategy, roadmap, and sourcing plan for ground transportation and courier services, including tender calendar and spend outlook
  • Manage the supplier portfolio and governance within Metso’s LSP pool, including performance follow-up, business reviews, escalations, and supplier development initiatives
  • Lead sourcing activities, negotiations, and contract management, ensuring effective global and local agreement structures, templates, and commercial principles
  • Own rate management (process, structure, and data accuracy), ensuring visibility, availability, and compliance across key trade lanes
  • Drive supplier performance, implementation, and standardized ways of working (SOPs, cadence, corrective actions) in collaboration with regional logistics and operations
  • Coordinate global stakeholders and support regional execution with clear guidance, reporting rules, and data quality standards
  • Partner with IT and operations to develop tools, reporting, and processes to improve visibility and scalability
  • Monitor market developments and drive continuous improvements in cost, service, and sustainability
  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, supporting business needs and providing category expertiseal business lines and key stakeholders, communicate relevant market changes, and support regional sourcing and business needs—escalating topics to global level when needed.

 

 

 

Who you are

 

  • You have several years of experience in logistics procurement or category management, with strong expertise in ground transportation and/or courier services in a global context
  • You have a proven track record in leading tenders, complex negotiations, and supplier development initiatives
  • You have strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret spend data, cost drivers, and risks in dynamic transportation markets
  • You have experience with transportation management systems, rate management, and data/reporting
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a global matrix organization
  • You have a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (e.g. Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or Engineering)
