Introduction
As Senior Vice President of the Grinding business line at Metso, you will be responsible for the performance and growth of our Grinding equipment business for the Mining industry. You will lead a great global team and manage business performance, product offering and development, delivery, and business development. You will contribute to Metso’s success by ensuring we develop and deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.
Your role is to lead the Grinding business line in its next phase of profitable growth. You will have the opportunity to leverage your experience in business transformation, strategic thinking and change management to take the business to the next level in alignment with Metso strategy. Collaboration with the aftermarket colleagues, Minerals business lines and market areas is crucial for the success.
The preferred location for this role is Perth, Australia; York, USA; Espoo, Finland; Baden, Switzerland; or Changsha, China, though we offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.
The team you belong to
The Grinding business line is part of the Minerals business area. You’ll lead an organization of about 200 professionals globally. You will report to Piia Karhu, President of the Minerals business area, and be a member of the Minerals business area leadership team.
What you’ll do
- Lead the Grinding business line with profit and loss responsibility.
- Drive growth and profitability of the Grinding business line
- Execute and develop the Grinding solution strategy, in alignment with Metso Minerals segment strategy.
- Set the commercial framework for our Grinding products.
- Drive the Grinding offering development with research and development agenda, including innovation and new product development as well as continuous product improvement.
- Lead the Grinding delivery.
- Manage and develop a global team of about 200 professionals, primarily located in the USA, Australia, Switzerland, China and Finland.
- Work closely with colleagues across Metso’s business areas, Market areas and Functions to drive growth, customer satisfaction, and competitiveness.
Who you are
- Strong track record in delivering business results in a global industrial company, preferably in the Mining industry.
- Experienced in leading strategy renewal, growth and profitability improvement of international businesses.
- Capable of building long-lasting and valuable customer relationships.
- Capable of driving product and solutions portfolio development and commercialization.
- Experience from Minerals processing technologies or operations is considered an advantage.
- Passion for building high-performing, collaborative teams across different countries and cultures.
- Hands-on approach to working in a matrix organization.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- University degree in engineering, business, or related field.
