INTRODUCTION

 

Metso is seeking an Application Owner for SAP Logistics and Purchasing to join our IT Supply Chain Management team. In this role, you will own the lifecycle management and development of IT solutions in the logistics and purchasing domain, including SAP S/4HANA Materials Management (MM), Inventory Management (IM) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) modules and 3PL integration.

 

Your contribution will be critical to the performance and success of Metso's global Logistics and Purchasing operations as we complete our S/4HANA transformation. Your role includes hands-on configuration and customization work as well as broader application owner responsibilities.

 

TEAM YOU BELONG TO

 

You will join a team of six Supply Chain IT experts dedicated to building and maintaining solutions that power Metso's global supply chain. The team is currently focused on SAP S/4HANA implementation and the development of logistics and purchasing applications. We work in close collaboration with Metso's Logistics, Procurement, and Business Areas, with team members located in Finland and Brazil. You'll report directly to the Senior Manager of Logistics and Procurement Applications.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

Technical responsibilities

 

  • SAP MM Configuration and Customization Configure and customize SAP MM modules for procurement, logistics, special procurement, inventory management, and material planning. Define material master data, procurement types, pricing procedures, purchase approval flexible workflows, and valuation methods. Work with interfaces such as Jagger and POSO/double POSO configurations.
  • EWM Configuration Configure EWM for inbound and outbound processes, including Availability Groups, Warehouse Process Types, Put-away Control Indicators, and Location Oriented Storage Control. Set up packing, deconsolidation, pick denial and differences handling, physical inventory processes, Post Processing Framework, and Warehouse Order creation rules. Implement RF Framework, master data configurations, and batch and serial number activation within EWM.
  • Cross-Functional SAP Solutions Implement integrated SAP solutions across MM, FI, EWM, PP, SD, and TM modules. Identify Function Modules, BAPIs, and BADIs for functional specification preparation. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues while ensuring solutions meet performance and accuracy requirements.
  • 3PL Integration Management Lead technical and functional workshops with third-party logistics providers for field mapping and IDOC configuration (inbound and outbound). Set up SAP organizational structures including Plant, Shipping Point, Route, and ATP configurations. Coordinate with users and 3PL providers for system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT). Lead cutover activities and provide post go-live hypercare support.

 

Application Owner responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate with external partners and internal development teams for custom enhancements and integrations
  • Collect and document requirements from logistics and procurement stakeholders, perform functional analysis, and transfer knowledge to business users
  • Drive adoption of agile, DevOps, and ITIL practices within the team to improve delivery speed and solution quality
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for logistics and purchasing applications, providing guidance to stakeholders across business areas
  • Support S/4HANA migration initiatives and lead module implementations for new business acquisitions when needed.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Must-have qualifications:

 

  • Hands-on SAP MM and IM configuration and customization experience in both logistics and purchasing domains, in S/4HANA environment..
  • SAP implementation or support experience in manufacturing, industrial, or logistics environments.
  • Professional proficiency in English for stakeholder communication and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently with ownership mindset while coordinating effectively with distributed teams.
  • EWM configuration experience or familiarity with warehouse management processes.

 

Nice-to-have qualifications:

 

  • Experience building or supporting 3PL integrations with external logistics partners.
  • Knowledge of cross-functional SAP integration (FI, EWM, SD, PP, TM).
  • Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices in SAP environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
