We’re looking for a Project Controller / Senior Project Controller to join our Project Control organization in Europe. In this role, you’ll be responsible for Project lifetime monitoring, maintenance, and forecasting. Your work will play a key part in keeping our operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. You will report to the Project Controlling Manager 

 

The role is based in Espoo, Finland; however, we are flexible on the location for the right candidate.

What you’ll do 

 

  • Be responsible for project structure set-up and maintenance in ERP
  • Work as a counterpart for Project Managers
  • Have project's end-to-end profitability & cash flow reporting and control responsibility
  • Ensure compliance and one set of numbers, i.e., direct link between project financials and Metso P&L and balance sheet
  • Maintain accurate revenue, cost, margin, and cash flow follow-up and reporting
  • Follow-up on intercompany prices (transfer pricing)
  • Have responsibility for budgeting & monthly forecasting process (including POC forecasting)
  • Provide detailed deviation analyses of financial figures - actuals vs. budget and forecast
  • Support project risk/red flag analysis
  • Ensure compliance with global processes, tools, and templates 

 

As a Senior Project Controller, in addition to the above, you will: 

 

  

  • Handle large and demanding projects
  • Take part in project financial governance development
  • Support training initiatives and spar with Project Control colleagues 

 

 

 

What you’ll bring 

 

  • A team player mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a comparable controlling role
  • Ability to act as a finance lead in multi-location projects
  • Ability to challenge other project financial stakeholders
  • Business and industry understanding
  • Strong understanding of project financials as well as key financial business performance metrics
  • Understanding of compliance issues and policies
  • Good knowledge of SAP PS, management reporting tools, and strong Excel skills are an advantage
  • Development-oriented mindset
  • Fluency in English
