Introduction

 

We are now looking for an experienced Product Engineer, Mechanical Engineering – Filters. The Product Engineer will be part of the Services Engineering team in Beneficiation and Dewatering Business Line, in Services BA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining filter products from engineering point of view together with the filtration product group. 
 
The position requires experience and an in-depth understanding of the equipment under the Beneficiation and Dewatering Business Line portfolio. The Product Engineer is responsible for product improvements and ensuring smooth modernization project execution for the project team. Product safety and quality of designs, including preparation of specifications, drawings and reviewing and approving work are basic duties in this role. In addition, excellent interpersonal skills are required in developing the cooperation with BDH Product and Delivery Groups, under Minerals BA and Metso.
 
The preferred location for this position is Espoo, Finland. You will report to the Head of Services Engineering, Beneficiation & Dewatering BL.
 
What you do

 

  • Design and maintain service products in line with the Product Manager 
  • Design itemized physical products and components, and define the equipment spare parts and replacement components
  • Support and ensure item management practices
  • Support service product development and life cycle decisions, as well as quality and warranty related queries
  • Support and implement continuous product improvement and ensure the safety of the product
  • Support decision-making in customer claims from the product point of view
  • Develop tools and structures to help project execution 
  • Creation and management of Service product documentation, including marketing, sales, delivery and training materials
  • Train, guide, and support quotation, project management, and engineering teams in your own area of responsibility
  • Participate in site works such as inspections, installation supervision and commissioning support, when required.

 

Who you are

 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering field, preferably in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
  • Several years of relevant engineering experience are essential, including experience in filtration products.
  • Experience in engineering and design, with drawing checking and approval duties.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant engineering tools (SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCad & EDM)
  • Previous exposure to package or project engineering duties
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work with others from different cultural backgrounds in a large matrix organization
  • Previous site or field service experience with filtration products is an asset
  • Previous experience in Metso dewatering equipment is an asset
