Introduction
We are now looking for an experienced Manager, Mechanical Engineering, Thickeners to join our Services Engineering team in the Beneficiation and Dewatering Business Line, in the Services Business Area. The manager is responsible for leading the Thickeners & Clarifiers engineering team for upgrade and modernization projects, sales projects and Service offering development.
The position requires in-depth experience in the equipment under the Beneficiation and Dewatering Business Line portfolio. The manager leads the engineering team and ensures design quality, including preparing specifications, drawings, and reviewing teamwork.
This position is preferably located in Espoo, Finland. You will report to the Head of Services Engineering, Beneficiation & Dewatering BL.
What you do
- Lead the team that will execute engineering activities utilizing established processes, tools and guidelines.
- Manage the team resource planning.
- Perform engineering and design activities for service upgrade & modernization projects, in co-operation with the engineering team.
- Ensure the team will execute project activities (engineering, package management and project engineering) and prepare deliverables to meet targets (budget, schedule and quality).
- Provide training and onboarding activities for the team.
- Participate in the development of Services engineering tools and templates.
- Support Services sales cases and proposals with preliminary/basic engineering input.
- Provide engineering support to Services Product Group in developing new service products.
- Develop collaboration with BDH Product and Delivery Groups.
- Participate in site works such as inspections, installation supervision and commissioning support, when required.
Who you are
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering field, preferably in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
- Several years of relevant engineering experience paired with 2-3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred
- Experience in engineering and design, with previous drawing checking duties
- Design experience in heavy-duty mechanical / mining environments is considered a definite asset
- Previous exposure/experience in package/project engineering (or Proj. Manager) duties
- Ability to manage a global team across different time zones
- Field (service) experience with relevant products is an asset
- Previous experience in Metso dewatering equipment is an asset
- In-depth knowledge of relevant engineering tools, primarily:
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Enovia. Knowledge of Microstran is considered an asset.
- Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
In addition, excellent interpersonal skills are required in developing cooperation with the BDH Product and Delivery Groups, under Minerals BA and Metso.
