Metso IP & Tech Legal is part of Metso’s Legal and Compliance function. We provide legal expertise and support in all intellectual property-related matters such as global IP-related policies, guidelines, and instructions as well as IP protection, enforcement, and dispute resolution.
We are now looking for a third- or fourth-year law student to work as a Legal Trainee at Metso HQ in Espoo. The working hours are part-time (approx. 3 days a week), and the contract period is 12 months starting on 4th August 2025.
As a Legal Trainee – IP & Tech, you will:
- Support the team in various IP law-related matters such as IP infringement cases, enforcement, and dispute resolution.
- Assist in corporate trademark portfolio management and brand protection.
- Support in different projects such as trainings and presentations.
- Contribute to the development of internal IP-related directives, guidelines, and policies.
- Review and draft IP & Tech related agreements.
- Co-ordinate meetings and assist in other administrative and paralegal tasks.
- Support in communication with authorities globally.

Who you are
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn more. We are looking for a proactive individual with a can-do approach, who shows initiative, ability, and adaptability. You enjoy challenges and like working as part of a team but also independently.
- High level of flexibility and willingness to take on diverse tasks.
- Genuine interest in intellectual property and tech law.
- Fluent communication skills in Finnish and English. Other language skills and study exchange programs or work experience abroad are an asset.
- At least half of your law studies completed. Additionally, prior work experience in intellectual property matters (e.g. in a law firm, in-house legal department) is considered a benefit.

The expected salary for our part-time trainee roles is between 13-17,5€/h. The exact salary for each role is based on the candidate's number of completed academic credits and job location.
