Introduction

 

We are now looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Engineering management department in Smelting Delivery, Metals Business Area in Espoo, Finland. As an Engineering Manager, you already have a significant track record of engineering in complex projects. You will lead the engineering work of all disciplines and manage a project team of chief engineers and designers. You will coordinate with customers, partners, and suppliers and report to the project manager. Your performance has a significant impact on the outcome of the delivery. In this position, you will report to Director, Engineering Managers, Mechanical and Structural Engineering.

 

This position is mainly located in Espoo, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. The ability to travel occasionally to customer sites is needed.

What you do

 

  • Lead the engineering work (process, layout, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, automation and civil) in plant solution projects
  • Take responsibility for cost, quality and schedule aspects of the project’s engineering
  • Deputy project manager when required
  • Ensure engineering according to Metso business process and Smelting Process technology requirements
  • Support sales by defining engineering scopes and budgets
  • Develop Smelting processing plant and engineering solutions
  • Act as a representative of Metso Engineering in front of the customer

 

Who you are 

 

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering paired with 7+ years of experience in large engineering projects
  • You have a strong business acumen with good analytical skills
  • You can lead a project team, establish priorities and manage deadlines
  • You have a positive impact on your team's performance and team members contribution 
  • You are proactive, results-oriented and have a hands-on approach to project implementation
  • You have excellent cooperation skills with internal and external customers
  • You communicate fluently in English (both written and verbal)
