We are currently seeking a Director of Industrial Filtration to join our Filtration Business Line Organization.
In this role, you will lead our global Industrial Filtration Product Group, encompassing all filtration solutions dedicated to the Food & Pharma, Chemical Processing Industry, Industrial Minerals, and Hydrometallurgical Processes. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving the expansion of the Filtration Business Line and positively impacting Metso Minerals.
Reporting directly to Jussi Venäläinen, Vice President of Filtration, you will play an instrumental role in shaping our strategic direction while also serving as a key member of the Filtration Business Line management team.
The preferred base location for this position is Finland, Lappeenranta, or Espoo, although other locations may be considered. We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.
Please note that international travel will constitute approximately 30-40% of your annual working time.
Team Overview
You will join a management team dedicated fully to Mining and Industrial Filtration solutions. Our team is passionate about driving growth, fostering cohesive teamwork, and managing the full profit and loss responsibilities of the business.
We collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including end customers, Market Area teams driving our operational sales, and the Services team taking care of our after-sales operations. Our team members are in various regions worldwide, with the management team based in Finland (Lappeenranta & Espoo).
What you'll do
This role involves both technical leadership in product management and commercial leadership in business development.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing the Industrial Filtration Product Group portfolio strategy, aligning R&D and product lifecycle plans, and formulating pricing strategies for products and solutions. You will lead a motivated product management organization, implement best practices, ensure product safety and quality, and leverage market intelligence for effective go-to-market strategies.
Additionally, you will lead a team of business development experts with extensive knowledge to support market area operations and drive the growth of the industrial filtration business. You will also be responsible for developing and managing the agent network in collaboration with our market area teams.
Furthermore, you will oversee market analysis, identify new business opportunities, and implement strategies to enhance market penetration and customer engagement. Your role will include setting performance targets, monitoring progress, and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skills are necessary to tackle complex challenges and find innovative solutions.
- Decision Making: The ability to make critical decisions daily, balance trade-offs, assess risks, and make informed choices is essential.
- Financial Analysis: Proficiency in understanding financial data, pricing models, and cost structures to support data-driven decision-making.
- Industrial Equipment Expertise: Knowledge of industrial filtration is expected, with a deep understanding of industrial filtration applications and processes (mentioned in the Introduction) is required. Familiarity with mining filtration products and processes is a plus.
