This is a key leadership role within the new Data, Analytics & AI Office, helping to ensure that data is treated as a strategic asset and that foundational data capabilities are in place across the organization.

You will report to the VP, Data, Analytics & AI Office. The preferred location for this role is Espoo, Finland, though we offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

Team you’ll belong to

You will be part of the newly established Data, Analytics & AI Office, Metso’s central hub to steer and enable the use of data and AI to deliver strategic business outcomes. We exist to unlock value from data and AI by strengthening data foundations, enabling innovation and empowering our people. Our core values are based on collaboration across the Data, Analytics & AI ecosystem, curiosity, integrity and business value as the guiding principle.

What you’ll do

  • Establish and lead the Data Enablement team, including governance, quality, and domain data leadership.
  • Define and implement data governance frameworks across key domains (e.g., product, installed base, business partner).
  • Act as a strategic partner to Business and IT stakeholders, ensuring alignment and shared accountability for data asset management.
  • Collaborate with data owners and data stewards to drive clarity on ownership, lifecycle management, and data quality improvements.
  • Contribute to the overall data strategy / data architecture design and ensure that business-critical data is available, fit-for-purpose, and future-ready.
  • Represent Data Enablement in the enterprise-wide Data, Analytics & AI governance model and forums.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements concerning data assets together with Legal and IT.
  • Steer the development and use of data products and tools such as data catalogues, stewardship solutions, and quality dashboards.

Who you are

  • Deep experience in data governance, master data management, or enterprise data initiatives in a complex, global organization.
  • Familiarity with industrial, product-centric business models and data domains.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional programs, drive progress and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable working across Business, IT, and Operations with a collaborative and pragmatic mindset.
  • Strategic and structured thinker with growth mindset and a passion for solving root causes of data-related challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership in building teams and setting up new functions is highly regarded.

What’s in it for you

  • An inspiring purpose - Enabling sustainable modern life. Minerals and metals are the backbone of essential functions in the modern world. However, there's a pressing need for more sustainable solutions to collect and process them. At Metso, you get to be part of transforming the industry and making a positive change.
  • Wellbeing and safety - Benefit from occupational healthcare, generous benefits plan, healthy living rewards, mental well-being services, on-site gym, bicycle benefits, and engagement surveys.
