Introduction

 

We are seeking a Data Domain Lead to take ownership for driving structure, clarity, and quality across Metso’s most critical data domains. As a Data Domain Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and developing domain-level data governance, coordinating improvements to data quality and usage, and acting as a key enabler for data-driven processes and analytics within your domain (e.g., product data, business partner data, installed base). You will work cross-functionally to ensure data is stewarded effectively across systems, processes, and organizational boundaries.

 

You will report to the Director, Data Enablement. The preferred location for this role is Espoo, Finland, though we are open to other major Metso locations as well as to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

You will be part of the newly established Data, Analytics & AI Office, Metso’s central hub to steer and enable the use of data and AI to deliver strategic business outcomes. What you’ll do

 

  • Act as the accountable lead for the strategic development and governance of a specific data domain.
  • Coordinate domain governance processes and ensure proper roles (owners, stewards) are defined and empowered.
  • Identify and drive resolution of data quality issues, ownership gaps, and process inefficiencies within the domain.
  • Align with business process owners, IT and analytics leads to support consistent and trusted data use.
  • Contribute to enterprise data asset strategy / data architecture design by bringing domain-specific priorities, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements concerning data assets together with Legal and IT.
  • Foster engagement within your domain’s community of practice and collaborate with peers in other domains.

 

 

Who you are

 

  • Strong understanding of data lifecycle management and data governance principles.
  • Familiarity with ERP and operational systems relevant to your domain (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, PLM systems).
  • Ability to manage stakeholders across functions and geographies.
  • Experience in data quality improvement, metadata, or master data management is highly valued.
  • Experience in using AI and automation to manage a data asset / improve data quality is considered a benefit.
  • Analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to act as translator between business, IT, and data experts to co-create practical, value-adding solutions.
