Introduction 

 

We are looking for Chief Engineer, Mechanical to join our Engineering management department in Smelting Delivery, Metals Business Area in Espoo, Finland. In this role, you are responsible for equipment specifications, drawings and deliveries to our customers. In this position, you will report to Director, Engineering Managers, Mechanical and Structural Engineering. 

 

This position is mainly located in Espoo, but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. The ability to travel occasionally to customer sites is needed.

We work closely with stakeholders within the Smelting team, as well as different global teams. Our team culture is all about getting things done – together.

 

What you do

 

  • Take overall technical responsibility for equipment specifications, drawings and deliveries to our customers
  • Collaborate with the project team to gather information about the equipment requirements
  • Maintain non-proprietary equipment specifications and drawings database
  • Lead and participate in mechanical discipline work in delivery projects
  • Act as an engineering expert in Metso Outotec's Smelting technology area
  • Participate and support Sales, Supply and Delivery projects
  • Coordinate mechanical solutions design according to the project requirements and maintain product structures in PDM
  • Participate in new technical solution drafting during sales or project initialization phase

 
Who you are

 

  • You have a technical degree (B.Eng., M.Eng. or M.Sc.)
  • You have an engineering background and 3D design experience 
  • You have an understanding of engineering tools such as AutoCad, SolidWorks, Engineering/Product Data management, Microstation
  • You enjoy problem-solving and work well within a team as well as independently
  • You have fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
