(Senior) Process Engineer, Metallurgical Water Treatment - Performance Solutions

We are now seeking a (Senior) Process Engineer to join our team! The main purpose of this role is to deliver the most competitive technology solution for Effluent and Process Water Treatment Plant sales and delivery projects to enable profitable growth at Metso. If you are eager to work on variable development tasks and take a responsible role in developing competitive process solutions for metallurgical wastewater treatment projects in a global environment, this position is an excellent chance for you.
The primary location for this position is in Finland, but we have flexibility for the right candidate. This position involves travel within Finland as well as internationally, for both short- and long-term assignments to customer sites and meetings.
What you do
- Conduct work of a process engineer in various project stages, e.g. scoping and feasibility studies, basic engineering, and sales/proposal support.
- Develop process solutions for effluent and process water treatment, including flow sheets on expert level;
- Participate onsite in plant delivery commissioning and start-ups;
- Model and simulate the entire process and process equipment configuration;
- Support sales function in choosing fit for purpose process solutions, unit processes, process equipment and increasing competitiveness in the offered solutions;
- Join the sales team for customer meetings (live and virtual) and advise on process solutions;
- Perform process audits, circuit surveys, trouble shootings and process optimizations;
- Plan and evaluate effluent and process water treatment development test works.
Who you are
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in process / chemical / environmental engineering, metallurgy or similar;
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in industrial water treatment or metallurgy industry, including experience in process & plant design;
- Proven experience either in commissioning, ramp-up & optimization of industrial plants and products or in operation of processing plants;
- Understanding of industrial water treatment processes, including precipitation, physical separation and dewatering, and process control;
- Know-how in Hydrometallurgical technologies is an advantage;
- Experience in application of process simulation & design software tools (e.g. HSC Chemistry);
- Good and proactive teamwork skills in an international multi-location organization;
- Fluent written and spoken English language skills. Other major language skills (e.g. Finnish/Spanish/Ukrainian/Russian) are seen as an asset.
