Introduction

We are seeking a DGI Reliability Specialist Trainee to join Metso’s Digital Inspection Services team.

With positions available in both Brisbane and Henderson, you’ll assist experienced NDT technicians in carrying out equipment inspections across heavy industrial and mining sites. 

Your role plays a crucial part in ensuring Metso services are delivered to a high standard. You will become certified to Metso’s Training Program and applicable standards as required.

 

This position will report to the Manager, Digital Inspections.

 

What you’ll do

·       Assist experienced technicians completing equipment condition inspections on heavy industrial and mine sites.

·       Gain experience using ECA (Eddy Current Array), UT (Ultrasonic Testing).

·       Complete assigned competency and qualification training modules.

·       Ensures equipment is setup, calibrated and functional for each inspection.

·       Conduct housekeeping and equipment cleaning duties.

·       General maintenance tasks as instructed by qualified trades.

·       Prepare post site visit reports, time sheets and expenses after site visits. 

 

Who you are

·       Mechanical background and aptitude with experience using power and hand tools.

·       Committed to developing a career in the mining industry.

·       Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

·       Ability to undertake repetitive work whilst maintaining high attention to detail.

·       Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, both verbally and written.

·       Positive and proactive approach to safety.

·       Ability to travel to remote areas for periods of time at short notice.

·       Working at heights and confined space tickets desirable.
