Purpose of the job is to lead mechanical maintenance in shift operation acting as leader in mechanical maintenance on shift for a Phosphate Benficiation Plant . Site is greenfield site and needs guidance and support to achieve safe and smooth operation. In the work you need to have hand on competence how to resolve oncoming problems and solve them with your team without additional delays. Work will include task typical to green field site where team members need to be trained and coached, and maintenance processes need to be developed. As a senior member you will drive development and creation plant maintenance structures in shift.

 

As work will be in isolated location, we expect the candidate to have previous experience of similar type of work. And to be able to work with team in customer site together with customer crews.

Following requirements to manage the role

  • Work as a senior mechanical technician in the shift organizing for reactive and preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Manage and execute all mechanical works, shutdown activities and operating project works in a planned and organised manner. Fitting and repairing of mechanical parts of plant machinery Conduct mechanical maintenance work of chutes, flotation cells, conditioners, pumps, pipes, grinding mills, thickeners, filters, conveyors and other crucial areas of the plant to ensure continuous operation.
  • Ensure that all mechanical maintenance workers and shift foremen are performing effectively
  • Lead and motivate personnel to achieve sustained high levels of performance and ensure all mechanical maintenance personnel are appropriately trained
  • Responsible for safety standards follow up in mechanical maintenance in accordance to company policy
  • Ensure a safe work environment and compliance to all HSEQ regulations and standards during the work and ensure compliance with statutory and other regulations as are required by law. Continually review and where necessary implement changes that will improve the department occupational health, safety, quality and efficiency performance
  • Ensure plant instructions are effectively conducted and co-operating with the other team members, ensure the optimisation of plant performance
  • Through good communications with other site personnel ensure that the maintenance is fully understood in the context of other site activities
  • Perform all work in a planned and organised manner, follow instructions and plans, and complete work on schedule
  • Housekeeping duties of the maintenance area
  • In cooperation with the other maintenance personnel ensure the optimisation of plant performance and continuous development of site maintenance
  • Other duties as directed by line manager

 

Basic requirements

  • Strong mechanical maintenance hand on experience

 

Technical competence

  • Mechanical education
  • At least four (5) years relevant experience from metallurgical/mineral processing plant in Phosphate Benficiation or Gold processing Plant
  • Basic knowledge of ore processing. Knowledge of procedures for routine inspection and maintenance and use of plant operating, maintenance and safety manuals.
  • Ability to motivate and lead others and evaluate performance of shift workers.
  • Ability to establish and implement plans.
  • English skills
